“After the initial excitement of winning the Deva tri in Chester, I realised that after a few days the normal post race pain was not calming down and I actually couldn’t run without pain in my leg. It even hurt when I went swimming. I had just got a new bike, and in the unfamiliar position I had managed to strain my groin.
This was a week before flying off to Turkey to represent GB at the European Age Group, so I started to panic a little. Emma was fully booked for that week but she managed to squeeze me in immediately for a session as soon as I got in touch. She diagnosed the issue, treated it, suggested stretches and other remedial action and within the week I was able to run with minimal discomfort. I then went off to Turkey a few days later, raced well, with no issue from the leg what so ever.
I have also suffered with Achilles issues on and off for the last 5 years. Starting to see Emma, her treatment, suggested strength work and stretching has helped me control this issue so that it doesn’t impact my training.

“I first went to see Emma when a chronic back injury returned just three weeks before my autumn marathon and a week before my last warm-up half marathon. I was barely able to jog around the block never mind run 26.2 miles. Emma soon diagnosed the problem and immediately started treatment. Following a second session two days before the half, I was able to run around pain free in a fairly respectable time.
